About the role
The Monitoring and Evaluation Officer will support hospital‑level MELD implementation, ensuring high‑quality data collection, performance monitoring, and reporting that align with network standards. This role is pivotal for maintaining accurate patient data in EMR systems and translating insights into actionable improvements.
Key responsibilities
- Support collection, verification, and entry of patient data across EMR, Metabase, and other reporting platforms.
- Conduct routine data quality audits, develop improvement plans, and collaborate with department heads to implement them.
- Manage indicator tracking, KPI development, and patient‑reported outcome datasets, ensuring accuracy and usability.
- Promote data‑informed decision‑making by designing and refining M&E tools, dashboards, and data quality systems.
- Train and mentor staff on data quality procedures, dashboard usage, and indicator monitoring.
- Prepare and disseminate MELD reports, dashboards, and findings to hospital leadership and stakeholders.
- Identify operational challenges through service delivery indicators and propose improvement strategies.
Required profile
- Experience in healthcare data, monitoring & evaluation, or hospital performance improvement.
- Ability to organize multiple tasks, prioritize under tight deadlines, and manage reporting relationships.
- Familiarity with health information systems or electronic medical records.
- Basic proficiency with data analysis tools such as R, SAS, SQL, or SPSS.
- Intermediate proficiency with data visualization tools like Tableau, PowerBI, or Metabase.
- Capability to lead implementation of new data systems and processes.
