About the role
The Office of the Public Protector seeks a diligent Session Recorder Officer to create accurate written records of its hearings and sessions. This position supports the institution’s mandate to ensure transparency, fairness, and good governance in public service delivery.
Key responsibilities
- Transcribe accurately the proceedings of the Office’s hearings and sessions.
- Produce a written record of each session for archival and reference purposes.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold the integrity of all transcribed material.
Required profile
- Grade twelve (12) School Certificate with at least five credits, including English and Mathematics, or equivalent.
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences or a related field.
- Secretarial certificate demonstrating 100 wpm shorthand and 65 wpm typing speed.
- Excellent analytical, writing and interpersonal communication skills.
- High level of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality.
Required skills
- Proficiency in computer use for document creation and editing.
