Tech Operations Manager

About the role

The Tech Operations Manager will drive the implementation of the company’s technology strategy in Zambia, ensuring that all IT systems operate smoothly and support business objectives. You will lead a local IT team, collaborate with regional and global partners, and champion continuous improvement across the technology landscape.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day operations of IT systems in Zambia, providing hands‑on support when needed.
• Implement and support IT strategies aligned with business goals.
• Manage IT projects to ensure timely, on‑budget delivery.
• Maintain availability, stability, and performance of core services (end‑user, infrastructure, network, applications).
• Own major incident management, root‑cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• Ensure effective execution of IT service management processes (incident, problem, change).
• Provide leadership, coaching, and talent development for the local IT team.
• Collaborate with Zambia management, African Tech leads, and global tech teams to align technology initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with IT standards, policies, and regulations.

Required profile

• Proven track record of managing tech operations and leading teams.
• Strong project‑management experience with cross‑functional collaboration.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
• Experience managing technology suppliers and working in matrixed organisations.
• Problem‑solving mindset with pragmatic decision‑making.
• Ability to work independently in ambiguous, resource‑constrained environments.
• Exposure to ERP systems in a manufacturing or FMCG setting.
