Transportation Supervisor (Logistics)

About the role

Twyford International is seeking a proactive Transportation Supervisor to join its Transport and Logistics Department at the Head Office in Lusaka. The role involves overseeing fleet coordination, vehicle maintenance, and driver management to ensure reliable transport services for a leading manufacturing operation.

Key responsibilities

• Source new transport providers and verify vehicle condition and driver licensing.
• Manage annual vehicle inspections, insurance renewals, and accident case handling.
• Arrange rental trucks, ensure drivers carry required documentation (delivery orders, weigh‑bridge slips).
• Maintain strong relationships with transport providers and support the logistics team in material movement.
• Coordinate daily vehicle allocation, decide appropriate vehicle types, and oversee fleet inventory control.
• Collect driver log sheets, update vehicle files monthly, and support asset management.
• Evaluate carrier KPIs and report on performance issues such as breakdowns or dispatch delays.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree.
• At least 5 years of experience in transport, logistics or related roles, preferably in manufacturing or FMCG.
• Demonstrated ability to manage fleet operations, driver supervision, and vehicle maintenance.
• Strong organizational, reporting and interpersonal skills.
• Fluent verbal and written English.

Required skills

• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Experience with fleet coordination software.
• Experience with property management software.
