Waiter/Waitress & Kitchen Steward – Full‑time Canteen Roles

About the role

We are looking for enthusiastic Waiter/Waitress and Kitchen Steward professionals to join the canteen team at Cfb Medical Centre in Lusaka. The roles involve delivering high‑quality food service to patients, staff and visitors while maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.

Key responsibilities

• Greet customers, present menus and make recommendations based on preferences.
• Take and serve food and beverage orders accurately and promptly.
• Upsell menu items where appropriate and handle payments and receipts.
• Set up and maintain tidy table settings throughout service.
• Clean and sanitize dishes, pots, pans, utensils and kitchen equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, storerooms and dishwashing area.
• Assist in receiving, storing and properly handling food supplies.
• Dispose of kitchen waste hygienically and follow safety and sanitation policies.
• Collaborate effectively with serving staff and chefs.

Required profile

• Full Grade 12 certificate with a credit in English.
• Certificate in Food Production or Hospitality (preferred but not mandatory).
• Minimum two years of relevant experience in a hospital, hotel or restaurant setting.
• Computer literate with good communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Strong planning, organisational and teamwork skills.
