Warehouse and Logistics Manager

About the role

The Warehouse & Logistics Manager leads d.light Zambia’s warehouse and logistics operations, ensuring safe, efficient, compliant and cost‑effective movement and distribution of products across the country.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day warehouse activities including receiving, storage, picking, packing, dispatch and returns while adhering to SOPs and internal controls.
• Collaborate with the Stock Controller to maintain inventory accuracy, investigate variances and manage damaged or obsolete stock.
• Coordinate inbound shipments, customs clearance and transportation to the warehouse, ensuring complete documentation and proactive delay management.
• Manage outbound distribution to branches, hubs and service centres, optimizing routes and transport utilisation.
• Supervise clearing agents, freight forwarders, transporters and other logistics providers, monitoring service levels and costs.
• Partner with Commercial, Supply Chain, Finance and Operations to align logistics capacity with business demand.
• Monitor warehouse and logistics expenditure, manage budget performance and identify cost‑reduction opportunities.
• Maintain high standards of health, safety, security and regulatory compliance within the warehouse.
• Lead and develop the warehouse and logistics team, fostering a high‑performance culture.
• Track logistics KPIs, prepare performance reports and drive continuous improvement and process digitisation.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing warehouse and logistics functions.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, develop and motivate a team.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Experience with customs clearance and third‑party logistics providers.
• Ability to collaborate across Commercial, Supply Chain, Finance and Operations departments.
