Trade Foreman - Construction

About the role

A construction employer in Lusaka, Zambia is looking for a trade foreman to supervise and coordinate artisans, skilled workers and labourers within their assigned trade. The post is full time.

Key responsibilities

• Allocate daily tasks and monitor work progress, ensuring completion to quality standards, drawings, specifications and timelines.
• Monitor the use of materials, tools and equipment, and coordinate with other trades for smooth project execution.
• Identify and report defects, delays, material needs and technical issues.
• Ensure workers follow health and safety requirements and use appropriate PPE, and minimise material wastage and rework.
• Give regular progress updates to the Site Manager or Project Manager and maintain discipline, teamwork and professionalism on site.

Required profile

• Proven practical experience in the relevant trade.
• Previous experience supervising artisans, workers or construction teams.
• Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, tools and equipment.
• Good understanding of workplace health and safety.
• Advantages: ability to read basic drawings and measurements, a trade certificate or technical qualification, and experience in residential, commercial or large-scale projects.
