Accounts Clerk

About the role

We are looking for a diligent Accounts Clerk to join our finance team in Ndola. The successful candidate will support the day‑to‑day financial operations of Newels Fire Protection Ltd, ensuring accurate record‑keeping and timely processing of transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices and record all financial transactions in Sage Pastel.
• Maintain and update ledgers, reconcile bank statements and manage petty‑cash accounts.
• Assist with month‑end closing activities and prepare basic financial summaries.
• Support credit control by monitoring debtor accounts, following up overdue payments and updating debtor records.
• Prepare documentation for internal and external audits.
• Liaise with internal departments and external partners to resolve financial queries.

Required profile

• Certificate or diploma in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Practical experience in bookkeeping, invoice processing and credit control.
• Ability to handle petty‑cash management and account reconciliation.
• Strong attention to detail, integrity and willingness to learn about fire‑protection compliance.

Required skills

• Sage Pastel accounting software.
• Microsoft Excel and general MS Office proficiency.
