Assistant Manager – Operations Finance

About the role

The Assistant Manager – Operations Finance will lead end‑to‑end financial management for BAT's manufacturing operations in Lusaka. You will partner with production teams to drive cost efficiencies, support strategic decisions and ensure robust financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with manufacturing teams to achieve cost‑reduction targets.
• Develop financial models, scenario analyses and cost‑benefit evaluations for business decisions.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and long‑term planning cycles.
• Perform balance‑sheet reconciliations and regular account reviews.
• Coordinate internal and external audits and resolve findings promptly.
• Evaluate CAPEX investments, monitor business cases and track performance improvements.
• Support the development of finance capability across operations teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field.
• Professional certification (ACA, ACCA, CPA) – mandatory.
• Member of Zambia Institute of Accountancy (ZICA) and ZAQA certified.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in FMCG or manufacturing.
• Proven ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and deliver results.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel.
• ERP systems knowledge, preferably SAP.
• Financial modelling and FP&A capabilities.
