Customer Service Advisor – Bank Teller

About the role

The Customer Service Advisor will operate as a bank teller, processing cash and related transactions accurately and efficiently while delivering friendly, prompt service to walk‑in customers. The role combines transactional duties with frontline customer support and the identification of sales opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Dispense and receive cash, cheques, drafts and other financial instruments over the counter.
• Verify all transaction details (date, ID, cheque validity, amounts, customer funds) in line with bank procedures.
• Capture transactions in the bank’s system, ensuring proper authorisation before processing.
• Count cash accurately and adhere to the bank’s zero‑tolerance policy for teller errors.
• Assist customers in completing deposit/withdrawal slips and other documentation.
• Provide advice on cash processes, explain procedures and security requirements, and resolve enquiries at first point of contact.
• Escalate complex or high‑value transactions to the Branch Manager or Operations team.
• Identify potential sales leads from customer statements and refer them to personal bankers.
