Data Scientist

About the role

We are looking for a Data Scientist to support the data agenda across our African banking group. The role will help track business performance, automate reporting, and provide insights that drive operational efficiency and cost savings.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure all data projects are financially managed in line with ARO standards and deliver expected benefits.
• Develop and maintain automated processes for monitoring and reporting performance from secure data sources.
• Create regular performance reports for senior leadership, including Heads, Directors, CMC and the Board.
• Produce forecasts and growth models for business cases using statistical and analytical techniques.
• Act as the liaison between business stakeholders and technology teams, translating requirements into actionable solutions.
• Promote continuous improvement and work within an agile, delivery‑focused environment.

Required profile

• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex data.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate with both business and technical teams.
• Self‑starter who can work independently while knowing when to seek collaboration or escalation.
• Commitment to continuous improvement and agile ways of working.
