Maintenance Planner – Equipment Services

About the role

The Maintenance Planner will coordinate the planning, scheduling and documentation of maintenance activities for equipment used in public works, mining and transport. The role ensures that service orders are processed efficiently, resources are allocated correctly and all related costs are captured.

Key responsibilities

• Manage site SAP service orders (SO), open orders, and record estimated or actual costs before work starts.
• Produce regular age‑analysis and financial status reports in SAP.
• Monitor resource allocation versus plan, report quality deviations daily, and capture intervention reports.
• Conduct weekly meetings with supervisors to ensure documentation compliance (target 95%).
• Create purchase requisitions following procedure and promote healthy supplier competition.
• Maintain server files for assets, service orders and ensure proper filing of hard‑copy documents under lock and key.
• Participate in the development, approval, training, implementation and review of SAP processes.
• Generate labour recovery, forecast and budget reports for senior supervisors and management.
• Oversee light‑vehicle service inspections, bookings and container management on site.
• Support long‑term forecasting, backlog reduction and continuous improvement of planning tools.

Required profile

• Proven experience in maintenance planning or scheduling within an industrial or equipment‑service environment.
• Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail for accurate reporting and documentation.
• Ability to work onsite in Zambia and coordinate with multiple supervisors and suppliers.
• Good communication skills to present reports and participate in meetings.
