About the role
The International Trade Centre is seeking a Project Adviser to support trade and investment policy programming and to facilitate regional value‑chain review mechanisms within the COMESA sub‑regional component of the ATCMA programme.
Key responsibilities
- Identify, analyse and help reduce regulatory market‑access barriers affecting trade and investment in the COMESA region.
- Facilitate the value‑chain revision mechanism (output 1.3) and support implementation of output 1.1.
- Provide policy analysis on intellectual property rights, competition, digital trade and investment facilitation in line with AfCFTA and related agreements.
- Coordinate with UNIDO, other ITC teams and regional partners to ensure coherence across continental and sub‑regional components.
- Support SMEs, especially women‑ and youth‑led businesses, to enhance export competitiveness and compliance with quality standards.
Required profile
- Experience in trade policy, investment facilitation or related international development work.
- Familiarity with AfCFTA, COMESA trade frameworks and value‑chain development.
- Proven ability to work with multilateral organisations and regional stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills.
