Artisan Plumber – Maintenance (Kansanshi Mining)

About the role

First Quantum is seeking an Artisan Plumber to join the Facilities & Services team at Kansanshi Mining. You will be responsible for maintaining and installing water supply, drainage and sewer systems in a safe, efficient and professional manner, supporting the mine’s operational reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on water supply, drainage and sewer infrastructure.
• Complete work orders accurately and report progress to the Team Leader.
• Maintain tools and materials, providing quantity verification for projects.
• Support the Team Leader and collaborate with assistants to meet task deadlines.
• Participate in developing SOPs and Job Risk Assessments.
• Ensure good housekeeping, adhere to safety protocols, and respond to emergencies after hours.
• Assist in training and mentoring Plumbing Assistants.

Required profile

• ZAQA Grade 12 Certificate.
• Craft Certificate in Plumbing or equivalent, or at least 5 years hands‑on experience (preferred).
• Valid Zambian Trades Test certificate (preferred) and PAZA membership (preferred).
• 2–3 years of plumbing maintenance and installation experience, preferably in water supply and sewerage systems.
• Ability to coordinate small teams and lead task execution.
• Strong accountability, teamwork, communication and safety awareness.
