About the role
Action Against Hunger is seeking a reliable Driver to support its field office in Mantapala, Luapula Province. The role involves providing safe and efficient transportation for staff, visitors, and program cargo while ensuring vehicles are well‑maintained and compliant with all regulations.
Key responsibilities
- Operate program vehicles as directed by the coordinator, adhering to traffic rules and road discipline.
- Transport staff, visitors, and goods over short and long distances, ensuring passenger and cargo safety.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness, conduct routine inspections (oil, fuel, brakes, lights, wipers, tire pressure) and report any defects.
- Keep accurate maintenance records, schedule servicing, and perform minor repairs such as tire changes and refueling.
- Ensure all vehicle documentation (insurance, road licence) is up‑to‑date.
- Deliver parcels, letters, and other items to offices and businesses as required.
- Complete required forms, report accidents or incidents promptly, and assist the supervisor with service planning.
Required profile
- Advanced Driving Certificate.
- Proven ability to perform routine vehicle inspections and minor mechanical tasks.
- Strong record‑keeping skills for maintenance and incident reporting.
- Commitment to using the vehicle solely for authorized official business.
