About the role
Action Against Hunger USA is seeking a Finance and Grants Officer to manage day‑to‑day financial transactions and grant administration for its Zambia operations. Reporting to the Support Services Manager, the incumbent will ensure accurate budgeting, compliance with donor and internal policies, and timely financial reporting.
Key responsibilities
- Execute daily financial transactions and maintain accurate accounting records for ACF‑Zambia.
- Prepare and submit accountancy bundles, budget forecasts (BFUs), and financial statements in line with IFRS and donor guidelines.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations and verify bankbooks before the 5th of each month.
- Record monthly commitments, recharges, and analytical entries, ensuring correctness.
- Collaborate with Program Managers, logistics, and administration teams to ensure compliance with procurement and internal control policies.
- Provide guidance and training to Zambia staff on budgeting methodologies, accounting procedures, and internal controls.
Required profile
- Relevant experience in finance, accounting, or grants management, preferably in the humanitarian or nonprofit sector.
- Strong understanding of financial regulations, donor compliance, and IFRS standards.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams and communicate financial information clearly.
- Attention to detail and high standards of integrity and accountability.
Required skills
- Knowledge of IFRS accounting standards.
