Head of Human Resources

About the role

The Head of Human Resources will be the most senior HR leader for G4S Zambia, partnering directly with the Managing Director to shape and execute a people strategy that supports the business plan, ensures compliance, and drives a high‑performance culture.

Key responsibilities

• Align HR initiatives with financial and operational plans in collaboration with the executive team.
• Lead, develop and mentor the local HR team.
• Model G4S values, monitor culture, and manage ethical or whistle‑blowing matters.
• Oversee mass recruitment, workforce planning and executive screening to meet customer demand.
• Design onboarding, performance management and succession planning frameworks.
• Champion employee engagement, manage turnover and lead union/pay negotiations.
• Partner with Health & Safety specialists to mitigate operational risks.
• Ensure job grading and compensation packages remain competitive.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of HR experience, including at least 3 years leading an HR function for a large workforce (1,000+ employees).
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field.
• Valid ZIHRM membership or certification is highly desirable.
• Expert knowledge of the Zambia Employment Code Act and local labour laws.
• Strategic thinker with operational grit, embodying agility, innovation, reliability and caring.
