Health and Nutrition Coordinator

About the role

Action Against Hunger is seeking a Health and Nutrition Coordinator to lead the design, implementation, and monitoring of high‑quality health and nutrition programmes in Zambia. The role reports to senior country management and provides technical guidance to ensure programmes align with both country strategies and donor requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure timely and quality implementation of ongoing health and nutrition programmes.
• Conduct regular field visits and analyse the humanitarian health and nutrition context.
• Lead programme design, proposal writing, and support fundraising activities.
• Provide technical advice to project staff and ensure compliance with Action Against Hunger and donor standards.
• Oversee capacity‑building initiatives for nutrition staff and coordinate internal and external representation.
• Collaborate with logistics, HR, finance, and programme teams to guarantee seamless delivery.
• Liaise with government ministries, development partners, civil society, private sector, research institutions, and academia.

Required profile

• University degree in Public Health, Nutrition, or a related field.
• Proven experience managing health and nutrition programmes in humanitarian or development settings.
• Strong knowledge of donor guidelines and best practices in health and nutrition.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
• Fluency in English; experience in Zambia is an advantage.
