Health and Nutrition Officer

About the role

The Health and Nutrition Officer will support the implementation of nutrition and health interventions at the field level for Action Against Hunger. This role ensures that acute malnutrition, infant nutrition, and integrated case management programs are delivered effectively to vulnerable communities.

Key responsibilities

• Manage acute malnutrition, MIYCAN, MAMi, ICCM, and SBCC activities in health facilities and outreach settings.
• Provide technical support to community health volunteers, care groups, and district health teams.
• Supervise daily implementation of activities and monitor progress against performance indicators.
• Coordinate with WASH and Food Security officers to ensure multi‑sectoral integration.
• Identify and verify programme participants, conduct field monitoring, and produce timely reports.
• Facilitate information exchange with local government, NGOs, and international partners.

Required profile

• Experience in community‑based nutrition or health programmes.
• Ability to work closely with community structures, volunteers, and health workers.
• Strong coordination skills with partners and government entities.
• Capacity to troubleshoot field implementation challenges.
