Health and Nutrition Officer

About the role

The Nutrition Officer will support health and nutrition activities at the field level, focusing on acute malnutrition management, MIYCAN, care for infants under six (MAMi), Integrated Case Management of Childhood Illnesses (ICCM), and social behavior change communication. The role bridges Action Against Hunger with communities, ensuring effective program delivery and monitoring.

Key responsibilities

• Integrate malnutrition management into health services and outreach activities.
• Implement MAMi, BFHI, MIYCAN, ICCM, and SBCC programs at health facilities and community sites.
• Supervise daily field activities and track performance indicators against standards.
• Build capacity of VHTs, care‑group volunteers, health workers, and district partners.
• Coordinate with WASH and Food Security officers for multi‑sector integration.
• Identify and verify programme participants, conduct monitoring, and produce timely reports.
• Resolve initial field‑level implementation challenges.

Required profile

• Experience in implementing nutrition and health programs in humanitarian or development settings.
• Proven ability to supervise field teams and conduct capacity‑building activities.
• Strong coordination skills with local health structures, NGOs, and government partners.
• Ability to monitor programme performance and produce accurate reports.
