HR Manager – Employee Relations (Lusaka)

About the role

The company is seeking an experienced HR Manager to lead employee relations initiatives within its large manufacturing facility in Lusaka. You will act as the primary point of contact for disciplinary actions, grievance handling, and compliance with Zambian labour laws.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all employee relations activities, including investigations, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution.
• Prepare and issue warning letters, performance improvement plans, and other HR documentation in line with company policy and Zambian labour legislation.
• Represent the organisation in labour office matters and coordinate with authorities when cases escalate.
• Oversee recruitment processes from job posting to onboarding, and develop competency frameworks and workforce plans.
• Support payroll and benefits administration, ensuring compliance with local regulations.
• Conduct training on HR policies, labour law compliance, and disciplinary procedures for managers and staff.
• Maintain accurate employee records, case documentation, and HR reports; analyse trends to recommend preventive measures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of HR experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial role focused on employee relations.
• Proven experience in large‑scale manufacturing environments (500+ employees).
• Strong knowledge of Zambian labour laws, HR policies, and dispute‑resolution processes.
