Mineral Resource Management Manager

About the role

The Manager – Mineral Resource Management (MRM) leads the Lumwana MRM team to optimise mineral resources and ore reserves. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the role ensures accurate resource models, compliance with international reporting standards and integration into mine planning.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Mineral Resource Management department to achieve business plans while adhering to health, safety and statutory requirements.
• Collaborate with planning and mining to optimise the life‑of‑mine plan, blending strategies and ROM stockpile levels.
• Oversee grade‑control and resource‑definition drilling, modelling and reconciliation activities.
• Ensure resource estimates comply with JORC, SAMREC or NI 43‑101 standards and support public disclosures.
• Manage contractor performance, capital projects and continuous improvement of resource utilisation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Geology (Master’s degree preferred).
• Minimum 10 years of experience in mineral resource management or geology, with at least 5 years in a senior or managerial role.
• Proven experience in large‑scale open‑pit mining operations and commercial acumen.
• Valid EIZ registration.

Required skills

• Resource estimation and mineral resource modelling.
• Grade‑control and ore‑block depletion tracking (FMS).
• Knowledge of JORC, SAMREC and NI 43‑101 reporting standards.
• Hydrogeology and geotechnical support for mining operations.
