About the role

Anzana is hiring a highly skilled and detail‑oriented accountant for its Zambian asset, Zengamina Power. The Operations & Compliance Accountant will manage local finance operations, tax compliance, treasury, inventory controls, payroll coordination and stakeholder liaison.

Key responsibilities

  • Statutory & tax compliance – prepare VAT, excise, turnover tax returns, coordinate PAYE, NAPSA, NHIMA submissions and liaise with ZRA.
  • Treasury & banking – process payments, maintain cash records, perform bank reconciliations and support cash‑flow planning.
  • Procurement & accounts payable – verify supplier documentation, monitor payables and perform supplier reconciliations.
  • Revenue & customer administration – issue invoices, reconcile collections, manage mobile‑money receipts and monitor receivables.
  • Inventory & asset controls – coordinate stock counts, maintain inventory records and support asset verification.
  • Payroll & HR support – gather payroll inputs, reconcile payroll and handle statutory payroll submissions.
  • Audit & documentation support – provide schedules to Group Finance, assist audit requests and maintain filing systems.
  • Process documentation support – document operational workflows, develop SOPs and train staff on approved processes.
  • Operational finance support – advise site management on finance matters, monitor controls, update forecasts and prepare variance analysis.

Required profile

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration.
  • ZICA Licentiate, Technician or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Minimum 3 years experience in finance operations.
  • Strong knowledge of Zambian tax and statutory requirements and experience dealing with ZRA.
  • Experience with inventory, treasury processes and supporting budgeting/forecasting.
  • Experience supporting statutory audits; prior audit‑firm experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with business intelligence, data analytics, reporting and automation tools (e.g., Power BI, Power Query) is advantageous.
  • Experience with ERP implementation, optimisation or finance transformation initiatives is advantageous.
