Project Manager II – UNICEF Social Accountability

About the role

ChildFund is seeking a Manager II, Project to lead the technical oversight of the UNICEF Social Accountability component of the EC4HD programme in Zambia. The role will be based in Lusaka and will run for a three‑month fixed‑term contract, providing strategic direction and ensuring high‑impact implementation across ten target districts.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall technical leadership and strategic oversight for the social accountability intervention under the EC4HD programme.
• Ensure transparency, ethical practices and community engagement in governance and organisational operations.
• Coordinate with technical staff, partners and key stakeholders to implement plans in line with the approved budget and donor guidelines.
• Identify contract‑compliance risks, prescribe corrective actions and monitor their implementation.
• Co‑create tools and strategies, strengthen inter‑sectoral coordination and oversee capacity‑development efforts.
• Align programme activities with UNICEF’s Social Accountability Framework and Zambia’s decentralisation policies.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing development projects, preferably with UNICEF or similar donors.
• Strong understanding of social accountability, community engagement and governance processes.
• Ability to work collaboratively with technical teams, partners and government stakeholders.
• Excellent risk‑identification and mitigation skills.
