Project Manager – SOAR III Nyenyezi Plus Project

About the role

CARE Zambia is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the SOAR III Nyenyezi Plus Project, an integrated initiative aimed at improving early childhood development, foundational education, and life‑skills for children, adolescents and young parents in Eastern and Southern provinces of Zambia.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and overall management of the Nyenyezi Plus Project, ensuring alignment with CARE’s operational plans and project terms of reference.
• Develop, revise and monitor workplans, timelines, budgets and resource allocation.
• Oversee implementation partners, coordinate activities across early childhood development, literacy, numeracy and financial inclusion components.
• Lead the longitudinal study, ensuring data collection, analysis and dissemination of evidence to inform programme improvement and policy advocacy.
• Manage stakeholder engagement, partnerships and advocacy efforts with government, community groups and donors.
• Supervise and mentor the project team, fostering a collaborative and results‑driven environment.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing development projects, preferably in education or child development sectors.
• Strong understanding of project management principles, budgeting and reporting.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
• Ability to work in a multicultural, multi‑partner environment.
