Reliability Engineer

About the role

The Reliability Engineer will join the versatile maintenance team at Lumwana Mining Company, supporting safe, reliable and efficient operation of plant assets throughout their lifecycle. Reporting to the Reliability Coordinator, you will use data‑driven methods to identify risks, analyse failures and implement improvements that minimise downtime.

Key responsibilities

• Identify recurring failures and develop engineering solutions to eliminate them.
• Develop and review asset maintenance strategies using RCM, FMEA, PMO and RCA.
• Collect, analyse and visualise equipment data with Power BI, SQL, Smart Fleet and Vision Link.
• Create KPI dashboards (MTBF, MTTR, availability, maintenance cost, etc.) and generate failure reports.
• Monitor asset condition through vibration, ultrasound, NDT, thermography and oil analysis.
• Build life‑cycle cost models to guide repair‑versus‑replacement decisions.
• Lead reliability processes such as defect elimination, lubrication management and condition monitoring.
• Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, standards and document control procedures.
• Collaborate with OEMs to adopt new technologies that improve reliability.
