Security Guard

About the role

The Security Guard will protect CURE’s hospital facilities in Lusaka by preventing unauthorized access, deterring crime, and ensuring a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors. This full‑time, on‑site position works closely with hospital management and security teams to maintain the highest standards of safety and integrity.

Key responsibilities

• Control entry to hospital premises using the gate‑pass system and verify credentials of visitors, patients, staff and contractors.
• Patrol buildings and grounds to provide a visible deterrent to crime and report any irregularities.
• Secure the site after hours by locking doors, monitoring alarms and ensuring all equipment is accounted for.
• Conduct security checks of vehicles and individuals and complete incident reports.
• Provide rapid response to alarms, fire hazards, and emergency situations, coordinating backup when needed.
• Support infection‑prevention procedures and protect the hospital’s information, property and reputation.
• Monitor fire alarms, smoke detectors and other electronic safety equipment, and organise regular drills.

Required profile

• Entry‑level candidate with a strong sense of integrity and commitment to CURE’s core values.
• Ability to work full‑time on‑site in a hospital environment.
• Good observational skills and the capacity to act calmly under pressure.
• Willingness to collaborate with medical staff and follow established safety protocols.
