Site Manager - Lusaka

About the role

A Site Manager is needed in Lusaka, Zambia, to organise and manage daily construction or operational activities on site, giving production commands and coordinating the work. The role covers technical supervision, quality and safety compliance, resource control and progress reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Organise and manage daily site activities, giving production commands and coordinating the team
• Interpret engineering drawings, layouts and specifications so that work meets design requirements
• Carry out quality assurance inspections, resolve on-site technical faults and enforce health, safety and environmental regulations in line with Zambian standards such as NCC or EIZ guidelines
• Manage site resources and equipment use, and requisition materials against the Bill of Quantities (BOQ) to minimise waste
• Prepare daily or weekly site reports, monitor project schedules and escalate critical issues or delays to upper management or the Project Manager

Required profile

• Diploma in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Construction Management or a related technical field
• Minimum 3 to 5 years of practical experience in site supervision, technical management or construction execution
• Fully paid-up membership of the Engineering Institute of Zambia (EIZ) and a valid practicing certificate or relevant registration with the Engineering Registration Board
