Assistant Relationship Manager – Agribusiness

About the role

The Assistant Relationship Manager – Agribusiness will support the bank’s cash‑management portfolio by driving sales of liabilities, payments, collections and related solutions. Working within the Absa Group, the role focuses on building profitable relationships with corporate customers in the agribusiness sector.

Key responsibilities

• Drive cash‑management sales across products such as Absa Access, Bank Direct and future offerings.
• Develop and nurture product relationships, identifying and meeting the business needs of existing and potential customers.
• Negotiate and structure cash‑management facilities for selected corporate clients while protecting the business from competitor activity.
• Segment clients, set annual sales objectives, and track progress against targets.
• Maintain accurate client “Cash Maps” and keep the sales pipeline updated weekly.
• Monitor implementation progress, provide support to meet client expectations, and coordinate cross‑selling opportunities.
• Attend seminars and conferences to promote cash‑management solutions.
• Coach and up‑skill team members on cash‑product knowledge.
• Ensure compliance with risk and governance standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience in sales, preferably within cash‑management or corporate banking.
• Strong ability to develop and manage client relationships.
• Excellent negotiation and influencing skills.
• Team‑oriented mindset with a focus on delivering solutions.
• Awareness of risk and governance requirements.
