Auto Mechanic

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Auto Mechanic to join our maintenance team, responsible for ensuring the reliability and availability of our fleet and heavy equipment through preventive and corrective maintenance.

Key responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and corrective repairs in line with OEM recommendations and company procedures.
• Diagnose breakdowns quickly, conduct accurate fault analysis and execute repairs to minimise downtime.
• Carry out inspections, condition monitoring and generate detailed inspection reports.
• Overhaul and replace components such as engines, gearboxes, brakes, suspension, steering and drivetrain, ensuring all tolerances are met.
• Maintain equipment reliability targets, reduce repeat failures and control repair costs.
• Update maintenance records promptly and collaborate with operators, supervisors and HSE teams.

Required profile

• Trade certificate or Diploma in Motor Vehicle Mechanics.
• Registered member of the Engineering Institute of Zambia (EIZ) and ZAQA‑certified.
• At least 4 years of mechanical maintenance experience, preferably with heavy equipment or fleet.
• Experience with hydraulic systems; FMCG industry experience is an advantage.
