Consultancy – Anti-Stigma & Discrimination Toolkit Development (Zambia)

About the role

UNICEF is seeking an experienced consultant to design an anti‑stigma and anti‑discrimination toolkit for persons with disabilities in Zambia. The assignment will run for 17 working days and will be based in Lusaka, collaborating closely with government bodies, disability organisations and other stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Review international and Zambian literature on stigma, discrimination and ableism affecting persons with disabilities.
• Co‑create practical guidance material with organisations of persons with disabilities, ZAPD and relevant advocacy partners.
• Develop a user‑friendly toolkit that provides inclusive terminology, communication etiquette and actionable strategies for government, UN agencies, media and civil‑society organisations.
• Ensure the toolkit reflects the diverse needs of persons with disabilities across the country.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in education, health, sociology, community development, public relations, communications or psychology.
• Minimum eight years of professional experience in disability inclusion and rights.
• Proven experience analysing and addressing stigma, ableism and discrimination toward persons with disabilities.
• Demonstrated expertise in disability‑inclusive communication.
