Programmes Assistant – Policy Analysis and Research

About the role

The Zambia National Education Coalition (ZANEC) is seeking a Programmes Assistant to support its Policy Analysis and Research programme. This temporary position will be based in Lusaka and forms part of a 15‑month regional exchange aimed at strengthening evidence‑based advocacy for inclusive education.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Policy Analysis and Research programme, including overseeing student research and external consultancies.
• Enhance visibility of ZANEC’s research outputs and facilitate learning from activities and engagements.
• Coordinate member organisations’ participation in policy spaces and ensure timely sharing of reports.
• Assist with sustainability initiatives, including operationalising the Resource Mobilisation Plan and identifying potential partners.
• Generate narrative reports on project activities and perform other tasks as assigned.

Required profile

• A university degree in development studies, economics, education or a related field.
• At least one year of relevant work experience.
• Strong analytical, writing and editing abilities.
• Age between 18 and 30 years.
