About the role

UNICEF is seeking an experienced consultant to conduct a scoped assessment of Zambia’s progress towards achieving Vision 2030. The assignment is home‑based and will run for five months, supporting evidence‑based decision‑making for the country’s development agenda.

Key responsibilities

Analyse existing data and reports on Zambia’s socio‑economic indicators against Vision 2030 targets.
Conduct literature reviews and synthesize findings on the baseline, preferred and optimistic scenarios.
Engage remotely with Zambian stakeholders to gather qualitative insights.
Prepare a comprehensive assessment report highlighting gaps, risks and recommendations.
Present findings to UNICEF and partner agencies in virtual briefings.

Required profile

Advanced degree in economics, development studies, public policy or related field.
Minimum 5 years of experience in development research, monitoring and evaluation, or policy analysis.
Demonstrated experience working on national development plans or similar large‑scale assessments.
Strong analytical and report‑writing skills.
