Coordinator Dewatering Projects

About the role

The Dewatering Projects Coordinator supports the Dewatering Superintendent in delivering reliable dewatering operations at Sentinel Mine. Working within a multidisciplinary mining team, the coordinator ensures pump systems are designed, installed, commissioned and maintained to keep water management efficient and safe.

Key responsibilities

• Execute operational tasks such as pipe‑welding, repositioning of pipes, pumps and boreholes.
• Develop short‑ to medium‑term dewatering infrastructure plans, contribute to pump system design (pump, pipe, electrical, skid/float), and manage supplier engagement.
• Oversee budgeting, procurement and on‑site installation, guiding projects through commissioning to ongoing maintenance.
• Monitor pump performance – flow rates, pressure, power/fuel consumption – and optimise system efficiency.
• Lead daily pump installation and commissioning activities, ensuring compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
• Implement and schedule routine maintenance programmes, troubleshoot issues and support repairs.
• Assist the Dewatering Superintendent with performance assessments of in‑pit sumps, pumping strategies and wet‑weather planning.

Required profile

• Experience working in mining or industrial environments with a focus on water management.
• Proven ability to collaborate with engineers, planners, hydrogeologists and maintenance technicians.
• Familiarity with pump specifications, electrical specifications, VSD installations and staged‑pumping scenarios.
• Hands‑on experience in pipe‑welding, pump relocation and borehole work.
