Customer Service & Sales Executive – Shipping

About the role

Pacific International Lines (PIL) is seeking a proactive Customer Service & Sales Executive to join its Zambia team. You will act as a key liaison between customers, agents, and internal departments, ensuring smooth commercial operations and driving sales growth within the shipping network.

Key responsibilities

• Manage pricing inquiries via calls and emails and ensure accurate filing of RFAs/PMTs.
• Review customer requests for free time, commercial matters, and verify FCA documentation.
• Monitor and allocate space on GCS, GC2, CSG, and intra‑Gulf feeder vessels for optimal utilization.
• Prepare weekly space utilization and CFMT reports, and generate PRD & Ocean/Feeder links.
• Assist with quotations for tender accounts and coordinate service changes with agencies.
• Support agents in resolving LMS‑related issues and liaise with the DG Desk on non‑DG commodities.
• Develop and implement sales strategies together with the Branch Manager, negotiate with customers, and identify new market opportunities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in commercial shipping or trade operations.
• Strong analytical, communication and organizational abilities.
• Strategic thinking and a continuous‑improvement mindset.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with logistics systems.
