Demand Planner – S&OP Specialist

About the role

The Demand Planner will manage inventory and forecast demand for Sandvik’s Rock Tools in the Central Africa region. You will lead S&OP meetings, analyse trends and collaborate with regional stakeholders to ensure accurate order creation and optimal stock levels.

Key responsibilities

• Lead Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) meetings for the assigned region.
• Collect and analyse forecast data, identify gaps and recommend improvements.
• Communicate forecasting and inventory information to regional key stakeholders.
• Support internal departments to enhance inventory management and maintain inventory parameters.
• Plan replenishment based on forecasts, release orders and manage expediting requests.
• Perform detailed inventory analysis, monitor key indicators (fill rate, obsolete inventory, DII, OFLT, forecast accuracy, air‑freight) and optimise stock levels.
• Develop short‑ and long‑term inventory strategies with relevant parties.

Required profile

• Matric/equivalent qualification and BCom in Supply Chain Management.
• Strong knowledge of the S&OP process.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency and strong analytical abilities.
• Experience with root‑cause analysis and forecasting tools.
• Excellent time‑management, attention to detail and ability to prioritize in a fast‑paced environment.
• Valid driver’s licence.
