Director of Information Technology

About the role

We are looking for an experienced IT Director to lead the technology function across our portfolio of hotels and resorts in Zambia. The role will shape the overall IT strategy, oversee infrastructure and cybersecurity, and drive digital guest‑experience initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute an IT strategy aligned with hospitality operational goals.
• Oversee implementation, maintenance and support of Property Management Systems (e.g., Opera/Oracle Hospitality), POS, CRS and channel management platforms.
• Manage IT operations across multiple properties, ensuring standardized networks, servers, cloud services and service levels.
• Secure guest‑facing technology such as in‑room entertainment, Wi‑Fi, mobile check‑in/out, keyless entry and guest experience applications.
• Design and enforce cybersecurity policies, data‑protection practices and PCI‑DSS compliance.
• Plan and maintain infrastructure including networks, servers, telephony (PABX), CCTV/security integration and disaster‑recovery/business‑continuity plans.
• Control the IT budget, capital‑expenditure planning and cost optimisation.
• Lead vendor negotiations with technology partners, system integrators, telecom providers and software suppliers.
• Drive digital transformation projects, including automation, self‑service technology, data analytics, IoT and AI‑driven guest services.
• Build, mentor and manage a high‑performing IT team across sites, including on‑site managers, engineers and help‑desk staff.
• Ensure compliance with Zambian regulations, data‑privacy laws and corporate governance requirements.
• Collaborate with operations, finance, sales & marketing and revenue management to identify technology solutions that improve efficiency and guest experience.
• Oversee IT support SLAs, incident response and system uptime to minimise disruption.
• Plan and execute IT set‑ups for new properties, pre‑opening technology planning and system migrations or upgrades.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field.
• Proven senior‑level experience leading IT functions in the hospitality industry.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multi‑property IT operations and large budgets.
• Strong vendor‑management and negotiation skills.
• Experience with pre‑opening technology planning and system migrations.
