Education and Training Manager

About the role

The Nursing and Midwifery Council of Zambia seeks a permanent, pensionable Manager – Education and Training to lead the development, delivery and quality assurance of nursing and midwifery education and training programmes across the country.

Key responsibilities

• Formulate, review and update policies and guidelines governing nursing and midwifery education and training.
• Assess higher education institutions to facilitate approval of nursing and midwifery training programmes and ensure high‑quality delivery.
• Develop, review and vet curricula and training manuals to align with current practice trends.
• Accredit institutions that meet standards as practical training sites, examination centres and CPD providers.
• Conduct research to generate new knowledge and improve education and practice.
• Design and implement capacity‑building and continuing professional development (CPD) programmes for nurses and midwives.
• Oversee the performance management system to monitor, evaluate and enhance departmental performance.
• Manage human, financial and other resources to achieve departmental objectives.

Required profile

• Full Form V or Grade 12 School Certificate (or equivalent).
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Midwifery or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Registered and licensed with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Zambia.
