Field Promoter – Agricultural Seed Sales

About the role

Starke Ayres, a leading African specialist in premium vegetable, flower and lawn seed varieties, is seeking a Demand Creator/Field Promoter to drive sales and market penetration in the Copperbelt Province of Zambia. The role focuses on promoting the approved product range to both commercial and home‑garden customers.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with existing and prospective customers in the assigned area.
• Identify priority products and customers, and create a weekly/monthly sales plan.
• Visit customers according to pre‑determined routes, providing product information, price lists and specials.
• Address customer issues promptly and expedite resolution of complaints.
• Prepare for visits with sales history and forward planning data.
• Network within the industry to uncover new sales opportunities.
• Participate in field trials, demonstrations and field days, reporting results to management.
• Convert successful trial outcomes into orders and new business.
• Submit weekly reports, expense claims and required documentation on seed complaints.

Required profile

• Grade 12 GCE certificate (essential).
• Diploma or degree in Agriculture (essential).
• Minimum 2 years of experience in the agricultural sector, specifically in vegetable seed sales and marketing.
