Government Engagement Consultant (Zambia)

About the role

The Government Engagement Consultant will work with the Radius Institute for Road Safety to build political will and strengthen governmental capacity for road safety policy in Zambia. You will act as a bridge between the Institute’s evidence‑based research and local authorities, helping to design and pilot data‑driven interventions.

Key responsibilities

• Identify gaps in governmental capacity and data collection related to road safety.
• Provide technical assistance for the implementation and enforcement of pilot projects.
• Collaborate with local officials to translate research findings into actionable policy recommendations.
• Support the preparation of reports, briefs, and presentations for decision‑makers.
• Monitor and evaluate pilot outcomes to demonstrate efficacy for scaling up.

Required profile

• Experience in public‑sector engagement, policy advocacy, or government relations, preferably in low‑ and middle‑income contexts.
• Strong understanding of road safety challenges and data‑driven solutions.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams.
