Health and Nutrition Officer

About the role

The Health and Nutrition Officer will support the implementation of nutrition and health activities at the field level for Action Against Hunger. This role ensures effective management of acute malnutrition, infant nutrition, integrated case management of childhood illnesses, and social behavior change communication across communities.

Key responsibilities

• Manage acute malnutrition, MIYCAN, MAMi, ICCM, and SBCC programs at health facilities and outreach sites.
• Provide technical support to integrate malnutrition management within health service delivery.
• Supervise daily implementation of activities and monitor performance indicators.
• Identify and verify programme participants, conduct monitoring, and produce timely reports.
• Build capacity of VHTs, care‑group volunteers, health workers, and district partners.
• Coordinate with WASH and Food Security officers to ensure multi‑sectoral integration.
• Facilitate information exchange with local governmental, non‑governmental, and international aid partners.

Required profile

• Experience in field‑based health and nutrition programmes.
• Ability to supervise teams and troubleshoot implementation challenges.
• Strong coordination skills with community structures and partner organisations.
• Proficiency in programme monitoring, reporting, and verification of beneficiaries.
