Health and Nutrition Officer

About the role

The Health and Nutrition Officer will support the implementation of nutrition and health interventions at the field level for Action Against Hunger. Working closely with WASH and Food Security officers, the role ensures integrated, multi‑sectoral programming that reaches vulnerable populations.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily implementation of acute malnutrition management, MIYCAN, MAMi, ICCM and SBCC activities.
• Support capacity‑building of community health volunteers, care groups and district health workers.
• Coordinate with local government, NGOs and international partners to exchange information, provide training and align technical options.
• Identify and verify programme participants, monitor progress, and produce timely reports.
• Troubleshoot field‑level implementation challenges and ensure performance indicators meet sphere standards.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in nutrition, public health or humanitarian programming.
• Proven ability to work with community structures and multi‑disciplinary teams.
• Strong monitoring, reporting and problem‑solving skills.
