Health and Nutrition Officer

About the role

Action Against Hunger USA is seeking a Health and Nutrition Officer to support field‑level nutrition activities across its programmes. The role focuses on managing acute malnutrition, MIYCAN, MAMi, ICCM and social‑behavior‑change initiatives while ensuring strong integration with health, WASH and food‑security components.

Key responsibilities

• Integrate malnutrition management into health service delivery at facilities and outreach sites.
• Implement MAMi, BFHI, MIYCAN, ICCM and SBCC programmes at both health‑facility and community levels.
• Supervise daily implementation of activities and monitor performance against project indicators.
• Identify and verify programme participants, conduct routine monitoring and produce timely reports.
• Provide technical support and capacity‑building to VHTs, care‑group volunteers, health workers and district teams.
• Coordinate closely with WASH and Food‑Security officers to ensure multi‑sectoral alignment.

Required profile

• Proven experience supporting health and nutrition activities in field settings.
• Experience supervising implementation teams and conducting community‑level monitoring.
• Ability to work with local governmental and non‑governmental partners, including training and supervision.
