HR Officer

About the role

The HR Officer will support Talent House Ltd's Malawi office, implementing the Global Talent Strategy and fostering a culture of teamwork, transparency, and inclusiveness. Reporting to the Talent and Admin Manager for Malawi‑Zambia, the role covers the full spectrum of HR activities.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and update staff data in BambooHR, ensuring accurate onboarding and record keeping.
• Manage contract renewals, probation assessments, and preparation of employment contracts.
• Coordinate health insurance matters, including new additions, replacements, de‑registrations, and refunds.
• Ensure legal compliance with statutory requirements for the Malawi team.
• Provide monthly payroll updates to finance and resolve payroll queries.
• Lead country‑wide recruitment efforts with support from the Global Talent Acquisition Manager.
• Drive learning and development initiatives and internal development opportunities.
• Communicate and enforce Global Talent policies, handling employee relations, grievances, and disciplinary matters.
• Monitor employee leave, ensuring PTO requests are processed through BambooHR.
• Support retention, succession planning, and leadership development programs.
• Assist with performance management and HR compliance across all levels.

Required profile

• Proven experience in handling end‑to‑end HR processes within an African office environment.
• Strong ability to collaborate with line managers and senior leadership.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to statutory compliance.
