HSSEQ Officer

About the role

The HSSEQ Officer will lead the day‑to‑day health, safety, security, environment and quality activities for Alistair Group, a fast‑growing logistics and services provider in East and Southern Africa. You will support the implementation of HSSEQ management systems and help build a strong safety culture across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Execute daily HSSEQ operations and provide technical support for system implementation.
• Plan, coordinate and deliver HSSEQ campaigns, training and awareness programmes.
• Organise internal and external HSSEQ audits, manage corrective actions and ensure compliance with legal, customer and company requirements.
• Monitor, track and report HSSEQ performance, escalating deviations and driving improvements.
• Lead investigations of incidents, accidents and near‑misses, identifying root causes and corrective actions.
• Conduct workplace inspections, risk assessments and hazard identification.
• Maintain HSSEQ records, reports and statutory documentation.
• Support emergency preparedness activities, including drills and response planning.
• Provide HSSEQ guidance to operational teams, contractors and other stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Advanced computer literacy with strong data‑management skills.
• Solid knowledge of risk assessment methodologies.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and ISO 22301 standards.
