Pastoral Training Instructor (PLD)

About the role

The Pastoral Training Instructor (PLD) will work in Lusaka, Zambia, supporting pastors and church leaders to deepen their biblical knowledge, develop mature Christian character, and acquire effective ministry skills. The role combines classroom teaching, small‑group facilitation and one‑on‑one coaching to strengthen exegetical, homiletical and leadership abilities.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver classroom lectures and facilitate small‑group sessions on biblical and historical theology.
• Coach pastors to improve exegetical, homiletical and evangelistic skills.
• Guide pastors in developing mature Christian character and effective church leadership.
• Provide one‑on‑one mentorship to meet individual development goals.
• Assist in coordinating Pastor Resource Center volunteers and maintaining pastoral resources.
• Prepare and distribute lecture notes for training participants.
• Assess educational needs and help set training objectives.
• Help organize guest speakers for two to three seminars each year.
• Support fundraising initiatives for pastoral leadership development programs.

Required profile

• Seminary degree preferred (Master of Divinity or equivalent) or at least a BA in Theology.
• Minimum five years of pastoral experience.
• Successful completion of the Perspectives Course.
• Strong facilitation and leadership abilities.
• Organizational skills to manage resources and events.
