Procurement and Logistics Officer

About the role

The Procurement and Logistics Officer will source goods and services, make commercial recommendations and ensure timely delivery to support efficient operations at First Quantum’s TFL site in Kalumbila. The role involves close interaction with end‑users, suppliers, logistics and finance teams.

Key responsibilities

• Source goods and services, provide commercial and technical recommendations in line with TFL and FQM Trident procedures.
• Expedite orders, coordinate with suppliers, freight forwarders and internal stakeholders to meet delivery timelines.
• Maintain accurate purchase order data in the Pronto ERP system and support end‑users in decision‑making.
• Conduct market research, manage vendor registration, and oversee the tender process from scope review to contract award.
• Monitor warehouse, stockyards and ensure health‑and‑safety standards are upheld.
• Manage donation registers, non‑passenger transport requests, and coordinate collections with logistics.

Required profile

• Minimum two years of experience in procurement or logistics within a large‑scale organisation.
• One year of project‑related procurement experience and exposure to local and international suppliers.
• Basic understanding of warehousing, inventory management and remote site supply chains.
• Grade Twelve Certificate and a degree in Supply Chain Management or related field.
• Member of the Zambia Institute of Purchasing and Supply (ZIPS).

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems, specifically Pronto.
• Strong tender management and vendor registration capabilities.
• Effective negotiation and commercial assessment skills.
• Ability to conduct market research and maintain product knowledge.
