Procurement Officer / Project Manager

About the role

This critical, high‑impact position is responsible for end‑to‑end sourcing, cost optimisation and supply‑chain continuity across mining, fuels, trading and logistics operations. The successful candidate will combine strong hands‑on project management experience with the ability to coordinate complex procurement pipelines and manage high‑value vendor contracts.

Key responsibilities

• Strategic sourcing and category management of fuel products, mining inputs, commodities and logistics equipment.
• Lead procurement project timelines from budgeting and scoping to delivery, ensuring seamless execution across sites.
• Build and maintain a vetted supplier database; negotiate pricing, credit terms and service level agreements.
• Partner with operations and stores to monitor stock levels, manage fast‑moving inventory and prevent stock‑outs.
• Align spend with approved budgets, monitor regional price fluctuations and maintain auditable compliance documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Logistics or a related field; CIPS qualification preferred.
• 4–6 years of solid procurement and supply‑chain experience, specifically in mining, fuel/energy, commodities trading or logistics.
• Proven track record applying structured project‑management methodologies to complex sourcing and multi‑sector logistics pipelines.
• Strong financial acumen with expertise in cost analysis, advanced Excel reporting and corporate ERP systems such as SAP or Sage.
