Project Assistant – Solar Energy

About the role

You will support the delivery of a large‑scale solar development programme in Zambia, working closely with project managers, government authorities and local communities. The role offers hands‑on experience across project coordination, stakeholder engagement and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in planning, scheduling and tracking project milestones; organise meetings, workshops and stakeholder sessions.
• Maintain project documentation, contracts, permits and regulatory approvals; manage dashboards and action‑item trackers.
• Coordinate communications with government bodies and support land‑acquisition activities through community consultations.
• Record stakeholder engagements, feedback and commitments in a central database.
• Research market trends and regulatory changes in the Zambian renewable‑energy sector.
• Monitor environmental, social and regulatory permit pipelines.
• Help track project expenditures, manage invoices and prepare investment proposals.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Energy Studies, Economics, Public Policy or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of hands‑on project implementation experience, preferably in energy, infrastructure or development.
• Strong knowledge of Zambian land‑acquisition processes, traditional leadership engagement and energy‑sector regulations.
• High emotional intelligence, meticulous attention to detail and ability to handle multiple fast‑moving tasks.
