Retail Store Manager

About the role

Bookworld is seeking an experienced Retail Store Manager to lead daily store operations, drive sales growth, and ensure an outstanding customer experience. The successful candidate will combine strong leadership with a passion for retail to motivate staff and achieve performance targets.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day store operations and maintain smooth functioning.
• Lead, train, and motivate store staff to meet sales and service targets.
• Deliver excellent customer service and resolve escalations promptly.
• Manage stock levels, ordering, and inventory control.
• Ensure the store is well‑presented and merchandising standards are upheld.
• Monitor sales performance and implement strategies to achieve targets.
• Enforce company policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.

Required profile

• Minimum Grade 12 certificate; computer literacy required.
• Diploma or degree in Business/Management is an advantage.
• Proven experience in retail management or supervisory roles.
• Strong leadership and people‑management abilities.
• Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, pressure‑filled environment.
• Good understanding of retail KPIs and sales reporting.
